Barely Improved / The 365 Project
365 days. 365 drawings. No erasing.
Started March 27, 2026. One drawing every day for a year, made entirely in black Pilot G2 ink without erasing and without visual references. The point is not perfection. It is discipline, momentum, mistakes, and watching change happen in real time.
One drawing. One day. No erasing.
Read about the project
The limitations are intentional. Every mistake, hesitation, change of direction, and imperfect line becomes a permanent part of the finished image.
Across 365 drawings, the project becomes more than a record of artistic skill. It becomes a visual record of a year lived in real time. Personal experiences, mythology, religion, anatomy, horror, humor, memory, death, beauty, and ordinary life continually enter the work, sometimes deliberately and sometimes without invitation.
There is no expectation that every drawing will succeed. Some are carefully constructed over many hours. Others arrive quickly, awkwardly, or unexpectedly. Together they preserve the fluctuations that are usually edited out of an artist’s body of work.
At its core, the project asks what happens when creation becomes a daily practice instead of something dependent on inspiration. A small decision on day one became a ritual, and the ritual began changing more than the drawings.
365 days of becoming barely improved.
